Ingredients

1/2 cup butter, softened1 cup sugar2 eggs1 teaspoon vanilla extract2 cups all-purpose flour1 teaspoon baking soda1/2 teaspoon salt1 cup sour cream1-1/2 cups chopped peeled tart applesTOPPING:1/2 cup packed brown sugar1/2 cup chopped pecans2 tablespoons butter, softened1 teaspoon apple pie spice

Preparation

In a bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Combine flour, baking soda and salt; add alternately with sour cream to the creamed mixture. Fold in apples. Spoon into a greased 9-in. square baking pan. In a small bowl, mix topping ingredients; sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350° for 35-40 minutes or until done.
