Ingredients
2 pounds lean ground beef (90% lean)1 large green pepper, chopped2 cans (14-1/2 ounces each) diced tomatoes, undrained2 cans (8 ounces each) tomato sauce1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce1 tablespoon sugar2 teaspoons celery salt or celery seed2 teaspoons onion salt or onion powder1 teaspoon paprika1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper3 bay leaves16 hamburger buns, split
Preparation
In a Dutch oven, cook beef and green pepper over medium heat until meat is no longer pink; drain. Stir in the tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; cover and cook over low heat for 30 minutes.
Cook, uncovered, 30-40 minutes longer or until thickened. Discard bay leaves. Serve 1/2 cup of meat mixture on each bun.
