Ingredients

3 pounds ground beef2 large onions, chopped2 cups water5 tablespoons chili powder2 teaspoons salt1 teaspoon ground cumin3/4 teaspoon garlic powder1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes

Preparation

In a large cast-iron skillet or Dutch oven, cook beef and onion over medium heat until meat is no longer pink, breaking it into crumbles; drain. Add water and seasonings. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat; simmer, uncovered, until the water is evaporated, about 15 minutes.
