Ingredients
4 bacon strips2 cups fresh or frozen cut green beans (1-1/2-inch pieces)1 cup water1/2 cup chopped onion2 tablespoons minced fresh basil or 2 teaspoons dried basil1 bay leaf1/4 teaspoon dill seed1/4 teaspoon garlic powder1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon salt1/8 teaspoon pepper
Preparation
In a skillet, cook bacon until crisp. Remove bacon; crumble and set aside. Drain, reserving 1 tablespoon drippings. Add beans, water, onion and seasonings to drippings; bring to a boil. Cook, uncovered, until beans are tender, 15-20 minutes. Discard bay leaf. Stir in bacon.
